ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS INSTITUTION

Completion of secondary education at advanced level, equivalent to passing the exam at the end of Norwegian secondary school, is the general basic requirement for entry to Norwegian universities and university colleges. Applicants over 25 years of age can apply on the basis of work experience if they do not
meet the minimum requirements.

Applicants must be able to document their work experience in the application.
In special cases, institutions may grant exemptions from the regulations for certain study
programmes if an applicant fails to meet the minimum requirements.

A knowledge of musicology and music theory is required for admission to all programmes.
Applicants must also complete an audition on their principal instrument or voice.

Admission to bachelor's programmes requires a basic knowledge and skill in music theory
and music history, good pitch perception, as well as a general aptitude for music.

Parallel admission tests in pitch perception and music theory for all institutions can be
taken at any institution offering programmes in music performance on Saturday 04th of February 2012.

Please sign up by 5th of January 2012 at the institution where you wish to take the admission test.
